There are two new teams in the AIHL in 2009, but they're the same teams as last year!
The summer break has seen two teams re-define their identity, with the Ice Dogs subtley removing the "Western" from their name to be the Sydney Ice Dogs, and the Adelaide A's went ahead with their promised name search and settled on becoming the Adelaide Adrenaline.
The Ice Dogs logo remains the same, but the Adrenaline have gone with traditional South Australia state colours in Red, Blue, Yellow and White. Their logo represents the two A's of their name inset into the shape of a puck.
The names are different but the teams are the same! The Ice Dogs will start the season on league opening night at home versus the Blue Tongues in Liverpool, while the Adrenaline will skate in their new colours for the first time on Sunday the 3rd of May versus the North Stars.
