|
The Sydney Ice Dogs are looking for another win when they face the Perth Thunder for the first time in an East meets West contest at the Macquarie Ice Rink.
The Sydney Ice Dogs' home opener will mark the first of four meetings between the two teams this season.
The Dogs go into the game with 1 win on the cards, having defeated the Sydney Bears last Saturday in an action packed game by a score of 1-0. Newly signed Canadian forward Stephen Johnston scored the only goal of the game, with their goaltender Damien Ketlo standing tall, blocking all of the 19 shots he faced.
The Perth Thunder arrive in Sydney with one win on the board, beating the Newcastle Northstars by a score of 2-3 at home.
The last time the Thunder and Ice Dogs met, the Ice Dogs fell to Perth by a score of 6-2 in a physical, fast-paced game. The Dogs have won eight of the 17 games against the Thunder dating back to June 30th 2012 and are looking to add another win to the records.
