The AIHL Digital team is currently recruiting unpaid volunteer and internship roles for the following positions:
Writers - Sydney x1, Melbourne x 2
AIHL writers capture the essence of the game - creating high quality, well researched articles featuring game previews, player and team profiles, and game recaps. You'll be provided a pass to each game you're rostered to cover - so you'll get up close to all the action - and we provide you guidance on article structures.
Social Media Coordinator - able to work remotely from any location in Australia.
Social media is a key channel to engage with our fans and share the AIHL action and stories. If you're a whiz at social media content and are looking for experience in sports and entertainment, the AIHL may be the perfect fit.
To support a national league and eight teams, AIHL Social Media Coordinators need a level head and the ability to monitor social media analytics to spot what fans love most and what could be better. You'll be able to demonstrate how to drive real business results through social and engage fans across Australia and internationally.
Video Editor - able to work remotely from Sydney, Melbourne, Adelaide, Canberra, Newcastle or Perth.
The AIHL is rich with fast, fierce and full on action - and we're capturing more and more of this incredible game on film! Video editors at the AIHL aren't fetching coffee for producers - you get to create fan-loved highlight clips and gain experience in the AIHL.TV main control room.
Live Stream Monitoring requires weekend availability and a strong internet connection. AIHL.TV monitors are paid for each game they schedule, monitor and curate for fans.
Marketing Intern - Sydney or Melbourne.
The AIHL is looking for a marketing intern to provide support to the marketing team throughout the 2018 season (ending early September 2018). Develop an understanding of social media marketing
Write and review copy to engage our online readers
Generate promotional campaigns to grow our following
Set up surveys, forms and other digital support where needed

Demonstrate to future employers your experience and applied expertise and develop your industry network.
Working at the AIHL
A national sport with over 94,000 fans supporting eight teams, the AIHL offers the opportunity to work with an experienced team to develop your media and marketing skills and passion. Our volunteers and interns can actively contribute to an emerging national sports entertainment property with global appeal.
The AIHL is building and maturing the League's brand and audience, working with internationally recognised, and ASX 200 listed sponsors. Creating our own unique content that showcases the thrill of the game, the passion of our fans and the talent of the players, we're creating a media platform that connects with fans beyond the rink - this is about community.
If you're looking to get into sports and entertainment media with an opportunity to support amazing ice hockey fans and drive real business outcomes - this is the place for you.
Our ideal candidates
We're looking for team mates that want to push the boundaries and are always trying to do their best. Our people commit to creating great outcomes for our fans and the League.
Prior experience is appreciated but you don't have to have a full portfolio of experience - with passion and a dedication to do better every time, you can prove your capabilties here and learn and develop. With support from experienced operators and mentors, and the ability to demonstrate outcomes delivered, our volunteers have gone on to professional roles at Fairfax Media, the Canadian Womens Hockey League and the NHL.
