Northstars to bolster goalie line up & development

The Newcastle Northstars are excited to welcome Mitsuaki Inoue to their goalie line up for the remainder of the 2024 season. Inoue will assist with goaltending duties throughout the extended 30 game AIHL regular season.

Inoue started in the JP-UNIV from 2005 to 2009. He has been playing in the Asia league since 2010 for China Dragon, High 1, Nippon Paper Cranes, Nikko Icebucks and Red Eagles Hokkaido.

As well as a 297 game playing career in the Asia League, Inoue was the goaltending coach for Japan’s 2024 IIHF World Championships team in Division 1A.

Mitsuaki Inoue will also assist with development of the Northstars local goaltending talent, bringing a high level of experience and expertise to share across the entire Northstars’ organisation - from the AIHL through to junior programs.

Mitsuaki Inoue will wear #70 and join the Newcastle Northstars on the road this weekend as the team travels to Perth to take on the Thunder. Watch all the action unfold via AIHL.tv
