AIHL Statement on the AIHL Season and the Coronavirus
At the AIHL, we place the health and welfare of our players, coaches, officials, volunteers and fans as our highest priority. As such and following discussion with all of our clubs, medical advice from State and Federal Governments and observing sporting leagues around the world regarding the very fluid situation of the coronavirus pandemic, we are postponing for now the commencement of our 2020 season, originally scheduled for 18 April, 2020.
We will continue to monitor available medical advice from the World Health Organisation, (WHO), IIHF, IHA and Federal and State governments. The League will meet regularly to assess any progress and provide a further update when there is a substantive change to the present conditions.
In the interim, we encourage all members of our AIHL family to take all necessary precautions to remain safe.
