2011 Finals in Melbourne's Docklands
- Submitted by

The Australian Ice Hockey league will run their 2011 Goodall Cup Finals at Melbourne on the 3rd and 4th of September.

AIHL Chairman Tyler Lovering announced that the Medibank Icehouse would host the country's annual prestige ice hockey event due to their excellent facilities and the groundswell of interest in the sport currently in Victoria.

"For the League having the finals in Melbourne again is a great opportunity, following the recent success of the Australian team winning IIHF Gold in April's World Championships Division I".

Home of the Groovetrain Mustangs and the Medibank Ice, the Medibank Icehouse holds 1000 seated and a few hundred more standing room, and will need all of those going by past performance.

"The Icehouse regularly sells out for regular season AIHL games and it was a full house for all of the International games in April", said Lovering.

The top four of the eight AIHL teams will play Semi-Finals on the Saturday, with the two winners going forward to play for the 102 year old Goodall Cup on the Sunday, and the title of Australian Champions.

Ticketing and more details will be release at www.theaihl.com in June/July.
