The Adelaide Adrenaline are thrilled to announce the signing of Canadian goaltender Rylan Toth for the 2024 season.
The 27-year-old brings with him a wealth of experience including a three-year stint playing in the WHL, which Toth credits as a personal highlight early in his career as it prepared him for competing in high level hockey. The stats speak for themselves, as Toth posted an impressive save percentage of over 90% for each season that he played for the University of British Columbia in USports and while playing for the Abbotsford Canucks in the AHL.
“I was fortunate to have some top tier goalie coaches in the WHL and while playing USports,” Toth says. “They taught me a tremendous amount about the position, both mentally and on the ice.”
This won’t be Toth’s first time playing on a different continent either as he spent the 2022 season playing for Romania in the Erste Liga. He welcomed the challenge of adjusting to a new culture while playing hockey competitively and is excited to explore everything Adelaide has to offer, including the city’s love of AFL and wineries. Most of all, he can’t wait to show Adrenaline fans what he can bring to the team.
“I’ve learned so much over the years from teammates, and particularly some incredible coaches. I’m looking forward to helping the Adrenaline achieve our goal of getting to the playoffs and competing for a championship.”
