Billed as producing “timepieces for dangerous men”, high end Australian watchmakers Haigh & Hastings have formed a partnership with the Australian Ice Hockey League (AIHL) for the 2015 season.
The watch brand was already a sponsor of the Perth Thunder and have extended the sponsorship to the AIHL. Haigh & Hastings will be the official timepiece supplier of the AIHL.
Focusing on developing rugged watches, specifically the M2 Diver, a diving watch which continues to work at up to 300m of depth, Haigh & Hastings are making a real name for themselves.
Originally conceived as a reflection on a passage from T.E. Lawrence’s 1922 literary masterpiece Seven Pillars of Wisdom which referred to the “dreamers of the day” as ‘dangerous men’, Haigh & Hastings are committed to creating meaningful timepieces for people who dare to dream big.
AIHL Commissioner Robert Bannerman said Haigh & Hastings were an ambitious Australian brand and there is a natural alignment between our organisations.
“In a short time, Haigh & Hastings have built a name for themselves,” he said. “We are pleased to be associated with them as ice hockey continues its growth in Australia.”
Alongside the title of official timepiece of the AIHL and prominent advertising at AIHL matches, Haigh & Hastings will award seven M2 Diver watches as prizes for the 2015 AIHL player awards at the 2015 AIHL Finals, each valued at more than $500.
Haigh & Hastings will also run a competition for fans in the lead up to the 2015 AIHL Finals with more details coming in the future.
The AIHL welcomes Haigh & Hastings and looks forward to the beginning of a bright partnership.
