AIHL raises $32,502 for Royal Children's Hospital

The AIHL is pleased to announce that it has raised $32,502.94 for the Royal Children's Hospital Good Friday Appeal, following the charity game between the Melbourne Mustangs and the Melbourne Ice at the O'Brien Icehouse on March 29th.

The total is believed to one of the highest ever raised for a charity by the Australian ice hockey community.

The Ice defeated the Mustangs 5-3 in front of a full house on the Friday night in Docklands, as part of their final preseason hit out before the start of the AIHL regular season.

"This is an outstanding result for both the Good Friday Appeal and the AIHL and a fantastic effort by all the fans coming out to support a great cause," AIHL Media Manager Stephen White said.

"We'd like to thank the Mustangs and Ice for their efforts in putting this event on. Hopefully, we can top this effort next year and the hockey community continues to support this great partnership."

The Melbourne Ice also auctioned off limited edition jerseys after the event, with all proceeds going towards the Good Friday Appeal.

The Ice and Mustangs will present the cheque at the Royal Children's Hospital on Good Friday.
